Sketch the Graph of a Quadratic Function

Using transformations can save a lot of time. The next time you want to rush to graph a function using your calculator, STOP! The answer is often right in front of you. Use transformations to sketch a quadratic equation, starting with it’s simplest form: y=x^2.

    I found this pencast to be helpful in showing how each part of a quadratic equation makes a transformation in it’s graph. First showing the x transformation and then the y transformation allowed for easy following and understanding of how to graph a quadratic equation.
