This pencast, Eric describes how to write the point slope form for a line. If you are studying caculus, this is the one you really need to learn, since the derivative gives us the slope of a function at a point – so we are ready to write the equation of the tangent line with little screwing around!

This is a good pencast. It really helped me out with chapter 2.3. One thing that could be better is to say that x-4y=1 is a given equation. It seemed to just appear out of nowhere.
This pencast appears to be a review of a simple concept, but it is a very necessary review. The ending of the pencast is the most important, in that he explains the necessity of knowing point-intercept form. Although it may seem silly to review something simple like point-intercept form, it's important to be able to capable of using the 3 forms of an equation. In Calculus, we must be familiar and comfortable with the 3 forms, and reviewing point-intercept causes you to achieve this familiarity and comfortableness. The pencast was a good review for something that is fundamentally important in Calculus.
This pencast was helpful. I already knew how to do point-slope form, but this explained where everything came from and the “why” aspect of the concept. I do agree though that it should have been stated that the equation was given.
This pencast was a good explanation of how to write the point-slope form of the equation. I thought it was helpful in explaining how to get the point slope form as well as touching on the importance of the form as well as mention that you have to be able to use the 3 forms of writing an equation to be successful in calculus. One thing about this pencast that I thought was a little confusing was bringing in the equation x-4y=1. This pencast started quickly and I didn't totally catch that this was a given equation at first so it was confusing when it was brought up. Other than that being a little confusing, I thought the goal of the pencast was accomplished.
